Spring Valley Boat Club Fish Fry

Our Fish Fry begins Wednesday March 1, 2017 and continues every Friday through April 14, 2017.  We serve bake or fried cod, with baked potato or fries all for the dine-in price of $9.50.  Carryouts for the price of $9.75 are available starting at 5:00pm with the last order taken at 7:00pm.  In our dining room our first order taken is at 5:00pm with our last order at 8:00pm.

April 6th

The Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library in Spring Valley will have a free “Smart Phone Training and Safety Class” to provide phone users the tools and hands on training about their smart phones. 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Rodney Tennison from IV Cellular will provide instructions to all participants no matter the brand or model of phone.

Participants will learn the basic set-up of their phone, how to connect to WiFi, use of phone's digital camera, sending and receiving emails, picture messaging, setting up voicemail, and downloading apps from the app store.

Also, explanation of what all the buttons mean on the smart phone along with some fun tips and tricks.  A question and answer session will take place after the presentation.

“Rules of the Road Review”

9:30 -11:30am

Secretary of State, Jesse White, in cooperation with the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library is offering a course for all citizens in the Illinois Valley area. 

It is a free program and the purpose of the course is to help participants pass the Illinois driver’s license renewal examination.  The course prepares applicants for the general written and road examinations, and also provides information on the vision screening.

Rip's Chicken Night

Doors open at 4:30 pm and chicken will be served until 7:30 pm. The menu:

¼ chicken or chicken strips, plus fries. (If you live in Ladd – we will deliver!)

Want a FREE dessert? A grocery basket will be in the foyer and anyone who donates food items will receive dessert free! A Bake Sale will be in the foyer as well!

Tickets are $8 each and can be purchased at the Pantry (500 N. Terry St., SV) or from a Board Member (listed below).

All proceeds will be directed to Hall Twp. Food Pantry and earmarked for the pantry’s Summer giving program – Second Helpings. Summer takes a toll on parents who are struggling to feed their children. Through this program, those who have children in school are able to come to the Pantry twice during the month – or, return for a Second Helping.

Parade Registrations

Annual Lighted Santa Parade! 

Open to entries of all kinds - walkers, vehicles & floats.  Individuals, families, friends,  businesses or organizations may enter.  

Get into the holiday spirit and register today.  The theme this year is Santa's Workshop, although all winter and holiday appropriate themes are accepted.
Keep in mind that it must be lighted - whether it's people walking/riding or the vehicle/float.  The more lights the more eye-catching and attractive.
Further details will be sent upon registration. Entries from other communities are welcome, too.

Theme is "Christmas Stories " but all holiday and winter related designs are allowed.
